Learn to Play Hockey

YOUTH LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY

LEARN TO PLAY
STEP 2 of Hollydell's Path to Travel Hockey

The Learn to Play program is Hollydell's introduction to hockey specific skills (stick handling, shooting and passing).  Learn to Play is the first progression to the skills of the game of hockey, and requires full equipment. We target 3 to 8 year olds, although exceptions can be made.  Skaters should be confident with Snowplow 3 or Basic 1 Skating Skills.   We target players born in 2011-2016.  Older players should contact Tom Bunting (tom@hollydell.com) to review the best spring hockey options.

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • 15 week session September 7- December 21
  • Saturdays 11:10-12:10pm
  • $375
  • Discounted to $325 if skater is also enrolled in the Learn to Skate program to continue skating skill improvement*

*For any players who want to get on the ice twice per week, we would strongly encourage signing up for a LTS class.  We have hockey specific LTS levels that focus solely on skating, the key skill for any hockey player.

We are pleased to announce that Dillan Madara has agreed to run the fall session of Learn to Play.  Dillan is the head coach for the Rowan University women's team.  Dillan is experienced with young players, and will be a great asset to the LTP program.  Dillan will be joined at times by members of the HIA full time hockey staff, and players on her Rowan team.
